Andy Slade of AMS Consultants is a prominent name in the field of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software. He has written many articles in the popular electronic journals on software and design techniques for 'High Speed Design' and EMC. He has also presented at most of the EMC Clubs throughout the UK. He has over 27 years experience in the electronic design industry. Since graduating he has worked at all technical levels in these industries, from junior development engineer through to project / product manager. He worked for 4 years in Germany as a development engineer where he became fluent in the German language, which has been useful in his subsequent career, occasionally presenting seminars in German. His most recent experience is with the management and design of Enterprise Computer Systems and with Disaster Recovery.
Marion Slade of AMS Consultants is qualified in Physical Chemistry and has experience in a variety of research institutes and industry. She has worked for the University of ULM in southern Germany as a research assistant studying the effects of Leukaemia on the human body. During this time she became familiar with the technical jargon used in the German scientific community. Later, while staying at home to bring up two children, she studied with the Open University and gained a distinction in a 'Computing and Computers' module. For the 10 years prior to joining AMS Consultants, she worked as a safety advisor, quality auditor and technical translator for a German-owned chemical company manufacturing electro-plating chemicals and speciality lacquers.
